Surveyor (Mechanical)

Summary

Responsible for providing inspection services to assigned inspection jobs at the vendor shop / project site construction inspection.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Inspection of materials such as plates, pipes, flanges, castings and fittings etc including review of materials and certificates to verify compliance with applicable specifications.
  2. Inspection of mechanical items such as valves, pumps, Pr. Vessels, compressors etc including witness of FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests)
  3. Witness and certify welding procedures and welders qualification tests
  4. Inspection of fabricated items such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, skids, structural equipment etc. including review of inspection and test plans/weld maps/ welding procedures specifications/ welders qualification records etc., materials inspection including monitoring materials traceability, inspection during fabrication such as bevel preparation, fit-ups inspection, monitoring of welding control and usage of qualified welding procedures and welders, review of radiography films and witness/ review reports of other nondestructive tests, final visual and dimensional inspection, review of post weld heat treatment chart and report, witness of pressure testing, painting inspection, review of final QC documents dossier etc.
  5. In-service inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchanger, boilers, turbines, safety valves, cranes and lifting equipment etc.:
  6. Review of Non-destructive tests procedures and qualification records of technicians,
  7. Inspection of lifting appliances.
  8. Prepare and issue visit activity and final inspection reports and inspection release notes
  9. Prepare and submit to line manager for his approval weekly time sheets and invoice request forms
  10. Reporting to the Operations manager
  11. Maintain job files
  12. Shall be familiar to and able to understand and interpret the relevant codes and standards for the products being inspected
  13. Knowledge of the IIVSIPL ISO/IEC 17020: 2012 Type A requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Degree / Diploma in relevant science or engineering discipline
  • For Degree, Min 8 years of Oil & gas in quality department or any other industry QA/QC with 2 years relevant experience.
  • For Diploma, Min 10 years of Oil & gas in quality department or any other industry QA/QC with 3 years relevant experience.
  • Additional qualifications such as AWS CWI, CSWIP 3.1, API, ASNT NDT Level 2 are preferred.
  • Genuine team player and Self –motivated and Strong communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, Sound technical base and a Practical in his approach
  • NDT Level II in UT, RT, MPT & DPT must for Mechanical
